Therapeutic Approach

Systemic Approach

In my work I focus on dynamics in systems such as relationships, families, teams or organisations.

Systemic counselling and therapy is a form of psychological treatment that focuses on the dynamics and relationships in families, groups and organisations. The focus is on the "big picture" and the interactions between the different elements within a system.

Systemic counselling and therapy assumes that problems and challenges that show up in a system are usually caused by the dynamics and relationships within the system. It thus looks not only at the individual, but also at the surrounding social network in which these individuals find themselves.

The aim of systemic counselling and therapy is to bring about changes in the relationships and dynamics within a system in order to solve the problems and challenges of individuals. Various methods and techniques are used for this purpose, such as the genogrammatic family constellation, the structural constellation or specific questioning techniques.

Intercultural Approach

Cultural differences and similarities, a culturally sensitive attitude and professional knowledge on topics such as culture shock, inclusion and adaptation are central to my work.

In an intercultural approach, the therapist pays special attention to cultural influences and differences when treating people with different cultural backgrounds and incorporates these cultural aspects into the therapeutic work.

This approach assumes that cultural factors including those stemming from origin, religion, language and social values can play an important role in the development and processing of psychological problems and challenges. The intercultural approach therefore takes into account the clients' individual cultural experiences and perspectives.

An intercultural approach can be particularly helpful when clients come from different cultural backgrounds and are in a therapeutic relationship, for example in couples counselling or in teams. It can also be helpful in addressing problems and challenges that arise from cultural differences, such as coping with experiences of discrimination or integrating into a new culture.
